Boat Plans African Queen | 360 degree video

Boat Plans African Queen

This is a 360° YouTube clip, which wont work properly in some browsers.
It apparently works in Chrome, Firefox, Opera, and in some IE variants -- Ive only tried it in Chrome.
If you see the video playing in the letterbox view like in the thumbnail (currently how it works in Safari), its not working properly, you should see a pan button in the top left, and the view can be rotated using the WASD keys

This clip is from Race 2, day 1 of the Alan Martin Series at RPNYC (1st for Blink in both races!)
Weve left Wedgetail behind (visible through the stbd wheel) and running down the trimaran St Laurence, we gybe away to clear them near the end of the clip.

Pontoon Boat Plans | Atlantic Video at last

Pontoon Boat Plans

Apologies to Blog Followers for the delay, but after months of trying we are finally able to download the video we made crossing the Atlantic. I have had to split the film into 4 sections to download onto You Tube, if you hover your cursor over the pictures it gives you the file name which says which part that film is. If all four parts arent visible then pop onto You Tube by clicking the icon under the video bar and you should be able to watch them.

Boat Plans Butler | Video clips from RNI 2014

Boat Plans Butler

In no particular order ...

First up, a clip from seven hours of fast, comfortable sailing with a heavy jib and double-reefed mainsail, in 30-40 knots northwesterly, between Taranaki and Wellington.  Boatspeed rarely dropped below 15 knots although top speeds not much over 20.

At the same time as this Bushido with a fractional code zero up were averaging just one knot faster than us, once we realised we did the same and added 2-3 knots of boat speed and started making ground on them.

This is from just after the start, leaving North Head in Auckland. Despite the conservative start we are getting near the front of the fleet here.

Leading the fleet towards Kawau, under masthead code zero

Leading the fleet towards Napier, sunset over the Wairarapa coast

Just after we rounded Colville, wind in the mid-30-knot range. Within an hour it was up into the mid-40s and we had to drop the jib and sail bare-headed under main alone for a while. The waves were surprisingly big (they always look smaller in photos/videos) given the limited fetch of the Hauraki Gulf, and of course larger as the wind built.

On the way up to North Cape, Code 0 flying again in 15-20 knots on the beam

And lastly a clip from a magical half-hour of light breeze, moonlight, sunset, dolphins... but at the limits of what the camera can capture so the video is a bit dark...

Boat Trailer Plans Australia | Video montage s from Brothers Race

Boat Trailer Plans Australia

Joerg has posted a great video from Blink on YouTube from our Brothers race last saturday (see previous blog entry below) ... Ill post it here as soon as I can find it via the Blogger upload feature.  In the meantime, heres the link

Ive shamelessly grabbed some bits of it to add to the montage of clips Ive made based on the time-lapse camera footage...  its a mashed-together time lapse replayed at varying speeds, Im still not utterly convinced its a good idea.   The sped-up time lapse is a bit disconcerting.  But for those on board who wish to relive the race or for those watching wanting to know what conditions were like at varying points, well - its all there.  Its just quite fast in places.
